Abuja, Dec. 16, 2016 (NAN) Commonwealth Society of Nigeria, an NGO, in collaboration with GHP Planet Technologies Limited, say plans have been concluded to train Nigerian youths on electronic gadget production in local dialects.
Mr Christian Ugwu, the Managing Director, GHP Planet Technologies Limited, said this at the closing ceremony of programme, Training of Trainers (TOT) organised by the company in Abuja on Friday.
Ugwu said the TOT programme, with 42 participants was organised in preparation for the training of 1,000 youths in different dialects on electronic gadget production.
He said that the adoption of local dialects in the programme was to ensure that language or education was not a barrier to the exercise.
According to him, the youths will be trained in the production of gas leakage detector, solar inverter, smart dustbin, phone charger, car security system, light automation systems and automatic water pumping machine controller.
He said the 1000 youths would serve as resource persons in a more elaborate training programme scheduled to hold between Feb. 7 and March 8.
The managing director said the elaborate training programme would accommodate 100,000 youths in each state of Nasarawa, Plateau, Niger and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Ugwu said the three states and the FCT would be used as pilot phase of the scheme aimed at making Nigerian youths employers of labour.
He said the training programme for the 1000 youth would hold from Jan. 5 and Feb. 5
Some of the participants at the event commended the organisers and pledged to impact the knowledge acquired on others at the more expanded programme.
Miss Margaret Osarenkhoe, a participant, said the programme had given her the knowledge to produce the phone charger she was currently using. (NAN)
