Remand

Lagos, Feb. 24, 2017(NAN) An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Friday remanded a 21-year-old man, Hassan Sanga, at Kirikiri Prisons, Lagos, for allegedly robbing a man of his motorcycle valued at N230,000 with another man at large.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi, who gave the ruling, refused to take the plea of the accused.
The accused, an unemployed man , who resides at Orile-Iganmu, a suburb of Lagos, is tried for conspiracy and robbery.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp. Simeon Inuoha told the court that the offences were committed on Dec. 31 at Orile-Iganmu, Lagos.
Inuoha said the accused with others still at large robbed a amn, Hamsa Garuba, of his motorcycle valued at N230,000.
“The accused and one other at large, who were armed with a cutlass, stopped the complainant on the road and robbed him of his motorcycle,” he said.
Inuoha said the complainant was able to recognise the accused when he sighted him.
The offences contravened Sections 295 and 297 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The magistrate adjourned the case to March 15 for the accused’s bail application. (NAN)
