Ile-Ife (Osun), Jan. 24, 2017 (2017) An Osun Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife on Tuesday remanded two accused persons, Matthew Adedinni, 25 and Emmanuel Fabiyi, 20, in prison for alleged assault occasioning harm.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Emmanuel Abdullahi, told the court that accused persons and others now at large committed the offence on Jan. 1, 2017 around 12 a.m. at Owoeye Area, Ondo Road, Ile-Ife.
Abdullahi said that the accused persons conspired among themselves to commit felony by using broken bottle to stabbed Kayode Ajayi on his back.
He added that the accused persons also used axe to cut Olatunji Kayode on his back which caused both injuries.
The offence, he said, contravened sections 355 and 516 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol 11, Laws of Osun, 2003.
The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The Counsel to the accused persons, Mrs Olubunmi Salawu, applied for their bail in most Liberal terms.
Salawu promised that the accused persons would not jump bail and had reliable sureties if granted bail.
Magistrate Risikat Olayemi ordered their counsel to file a formal application for bail and remanded the accused persons in prison,
She adjourned the case till Feb. 13 for hearing of the application for bail. (NAN)
