Court orders woman to refund N65, 000 over failed land deal

Kaduna, March 6, 2018 (NAN) The Magajin Gari Sharia Court in Kaduna, on Tuesday ordered a 50-year-old business woman, Hajiya Aisha, to refund N65,000 to a complainant, Jamilu Sani, over a failed land deal.
Aisha, who resides at Unguwan Muazu was dragged to court along with one Alhaji Hari by Jamilu for breach of trust.
The complainant told the court that the two had sold off a piece of land from them and made a deposit of N220, ooo in March 2016 with an agreement to pay the balance later.
He said that the land, owned by Aisha and located at Unguwan Muazu, was sold to him through Hari at the cost N350,000, but was later sold to another person by Aisha.
Jamilu said when he heard of the second deal, he decided to approach the court for refund.
The case was first heard on Feb. 27, when the Judge, Salisu Tureta ruled that the defendant should refund the sum of N220,000 to Jamilu as he was no longer interested in the land.
Aisha had repaid N155,000 to the complainant through Hari and was ordered by the court to pay the remaining N65,000 latest April. 3.(NAN)
