Abuja,Sept.19,2017 (NAN) The National Industrial Court, Abuja, has fixed Nov.1 for Arewa Hotel Development Ltd, to open its defence in the case of alleged unpaid terminal benefits filed by a former employee, Anthony Opaluwa.

Opaluwa was an Assistant Manager with the hotel before his appointment was terminated by the respondent in 2005.

The claimant wants the court to order the respondent to pay him all his terminal benefits in line with the provisions of the Pension Reform Act.

At the resumed hearing on Monday, Justice Edith Agbakoba, fixed the date after the defence counsel,Mr Ogbonna Nwanya, concluded the cross-examination of Opaluwa, the claimant.

Opaluwa, during the cross examination, had told the court that he instituted the suit because his former employer ” refused” to pay him his terminal benefits according to the Pension Reform Act.

He said that all he wants is for the court to prevail on the respondent to pay him all his entitlements.

The court would also hear a pending application filed by the claimant’s counsel, Mr Nicholas Oduaran on Nov.1. (NAN)
