Court jails security guard for breach of trust, cheating

Abuja, March 29, 2017 (NAN) A Karmo Grade 1 Area Court , Abuja, on Wednesday sentenced a security guard, Bala Ibrahim, 25, to two months imprisonment for criminal breach of trust and cheating.
The judge, Mr Abubakar Sadiq, who sentenced the convict as he admitted committing the offence, gave him N10,000 option of fine and warned him to desist from committing crime in the future.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Mr Dalhatu Zannah, told the court that one Friday Obidia, reported the matter at Gwarinpa Police Station on March 24.
Zannah said that on March 8 the complainant gave the convict his tricycle valued at N80, 000 to assist him find a buyer.
He said that the convict sold the tricycle and absconded with the cash to an unknown destination until he was arrested by the police.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 312 and 322 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
