Court grants stringent bail conditions to 5 men over alleged theft of machine

Lagos, Dec. 14, 2016 (NAN) A Tinubu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Wednesday granted stringent bail
conditions to five site suppliers, who allegedly stole block moulding machines valued at N375,000.

The accused persons who are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and theft are, Justice Ajibigun
(34), Fatai Husseini (32), Sunday Osajie (46), Amos Oladipupo (40) and Godspower Osajie (41).

The five accused pleaded not guilty to the two-charge preferred against them.

The Magistrate, Mr Ade Adefulire, admitted the five accused to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties each in like sum.

He directed that one of the sureties must be a community leader and the other a clergyman.

The magistrate adjourned the case to Dec. 19, for mention.

The prosecutor, Insp. Ben Ekundayo, earlier told the court that the accused persons had on Nov. 12, at about 12:00 p.m. at Banana Island, Ikoyi Lagos conspired to steal.

He said that the five accused who supplied building materials at the site, stole a Lister engine 48G block moulding machine valued at N375, 000 which belonged to one Said Mumuney.

Ekundayo said that the offences contravened Sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. (NAN)
