Court grants bail to 2 men accused of cable theft

Abuja, June.11, 2017 (NAN) A Wuse Zone 2 Senior Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, on Tuesday granted bail to 30-year-old Bello Ibrahim, and 32-year-old Sadiq Hassan, docked for allegedly stealing armoured cables.
The two defendants denied committing the offence.
Senior Magistrate Mohammed Tahir, granted them bail in the sum of N100, 000 each, with one surety each in like sum and adjourned the matter until Aug. 2 for hearing.
The police had alleged that the two men, both of Dutsen Alaji, Abuja, stole 48-metre long armoured cables.
The prosecutor, Felix Ajah, told the court that one Dauda Sule, of Gwarimpa, Abuja, reported the matter at the Gwarimpa Police Station.
He had reported that on June 30, the two defendants entered into the property of the complainant at Gwarimpa, without his consent and stole the armoured cables.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 79 and 287 of the Penal Code.
