Commission trains 52 officers on public financial management

Dutse, Dec. 22, 2016 (NAN) The Jigawa State Local Government Service Commission (JSLSC) said it had organised a two-day training for Cashiers and Accounts Officers on public financial management in local government administration.

The Spokesperson of the Commission, Malam Najib Umar, said  on Thursday in Dutse that the workshop would focus on practical approach to local government system of financial management.

Umar added that the training, which began on Dec. 21, would also cut across all the accounting procedures, ranging from receipt, payment and periodic statement of accounts up to final balance sheet.

“The workshop was purely on practical approach to local government system of financial management.

“Participants, drawn from each of the 27 local government areas, will be exposed to all the accounting procedures such as receipting, payment, periodic statement of accounts and final balance sheet,” he said.

He said that the Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Kabir Hassan, reiterated the state government’s commitment to train treasury staff, to achieve successful budget planning in local government administration across the state. (NAN)
