Abuja, Sept. 4, 2017 (NAN) Pastor Paul Nebo, Founder of Christ Axe of Fire Worship Centre, Abuja, on Monday called on Nigerians to adhere and internalised the national pledge and exhibit its tenant to enhance patriotism and unity.

Nebo made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

“The non internalisation and adherence to the country’s national pledge is responsible for the crisis facing and threatening the corporate existence of the country.

“There is the absolute need for Nigerians to be committed and fight for the unity of the country they profess in the National pledge.

“The book of Ecclesiastes 5:4-5 in the Holy Bible says `when thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for He hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.

“Better is it that you should not pledge than pledge and refuse to adhered to it,’’ Nebo said.

According to him, Nigeria has entered into a vow with God through the national pledge, adding that the unity that Nigerians vowed to defend had been neglected.

He said that until Nigerians looked back to correct their mistakes by religiously adhering to the tenets and doctrines of the national pledge, “God may not intervene in our issues’’.

Nebo urged political leaders and stakeholders to promote the unity of Nigerians at all cost and to also live up to expectations of having a better country.

He said groups such as the Northern, Eastern or Western Governors Forum exist to only promote regionalism instead of nationalism.

The Cleric, however, called on Nigeria Governors’ Forum to ensure collective commitment of its members to promote unity and peaceful coexistence in the country.

He also urged the government to consider reduction of age limit for candidates who intend to contest for political positions in the country. (NAN)
