Ile-Ife (Osun), April 22, 2018 (NAN) Pastor Michael Oyepetun, the Regional Superintendent, Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Babalola Region, Eleta, Ibadan, on Sunday advised Christians to adhere to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Oyepetun gave the advice  at the induction of Pastor and Mrs Peter Ogunwale as the Superintendent of Ife District Coordinating Council (DCC) in Ile-Ife.

He alleged that some Christian clerics were using demonic powers to perform miracles and wonders.

“Some of these so-called ministers of God are not called by the living God; they called themselves purposely to commercialise their Church, for their selfish interests.

“These ministers were not ordained for the salvation of the souls of the gentiles, but their Church were set up for material things and mainly to perpetrate evils, they are wolves amidst the fold,” Oyepetun said.

The cleric admonished true ministers of God to solely rely on His power, and make Jesus Christ their royal shepherd while they too should be a good shepherd for their members.

He said,“Rod, staff, catapult and organ, among others, were the materials that a good shepherd uses to direct the sheep, protect, save and drive away wild animals from attacking his sheep.”

Oyepetun urged them not to be bothered by where they had been posted to work, citing the Bible verse where Jesus Christ charged His followers to “go ye into the world and preach the gospel unto everyone”.

He assured them that if truly God is the one who called them, He would surely provide for all their needs and protect them from evil.

In his address of welcome, Pastor Femi Olayinka, the CAC Ife District Coordinating Council Secretary, congratulated and welcomed the new Superintendent to the DCC.

Olayinka advised the church to cooperate with the new Superintendent, to jointly uplift the glory of the church and to take it to the promised land.

He enjoined the inductee to embrace the love of God; be accommodating and use all in his power to make the work of God progress, to be fully rewarded here on Earth and eternally.

The secretary prayed that God would renew his strength and lead members with deep spiritual encouragement for the success of the ministry.

In his remarks, Ogunwale lauded all his guests for their presence, pledged that he would ensure that he served according to God’s desire.

Ogunwale asked the members to support him in the ministry and be ready to work with him, as one body in Christ. (NAN)
