Leadership

By Tukur Muntari

Kano, April 4, 2018 (NAN) A prominent Islamic scholar in Kano, Mallam Kabiru Dantaura, has advised elected political leaders in the country to always lead by example for the development of the country.

Dantaura gave this advice at a special prayer session organised for late Alhaji Abubakar Rimi, the first civilian governor of Kano State, who died on April 4, 2010.

According to him, the advice is necessary in order for the youth, who are future leaders of the country to emulate them.

He described the late governor as a great leader, who contributed a lot toward the development of the state in particular and the country at large.

“The style of leadership of Rimi and his leadership qualities are what endeared him most to the people of Kano,” he said.

NAN reports that hundreds of people from within and outside the state attended the special prayer session, which was organised by his friends and associates as part of the activities to remember him.

The prayer, which was conducted at around 10:30 a.m. at Umar Bin Khattab Mosque, Zaria Road, was also attended by some prominent members of the the defunct People’s Redemption Party (PRP).

NAN reports that the prayer was led by Dantaura in company with other prominent Islamic scholars from the state.

NAN also reports that the group later visited the grave side of the deceased at Tarauni cemetery in the metropolis, where they offered prayers. (NAN)
