Minna, Oct. 18, 2017 ( NAN) A cleric,  Bishop Martins Uzuokwu, on Wednesday advised the Federal Government to utilise the  recovered loots  in providing  basic amenities  that would improve the  living  standard of Nigerians.

Uzuokwu, who is the Catholic Bishop of Minna Diocese, told the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) in Minna that the recovered loots needed to be put into use to ease the hardship in the country.

“ Nigerians were eager to see to the political change they voted for through the provision of basic infrastructure like roads, electricity, education and effective health care services.

“ Why keeping the money? It is two years; we want to see what we voted for in meeting the desired political change,” the bishop said.

According to him, the current condition of road network in the country has negative effects on the nation’s political and socio-economic growth.

“Mr President should direct the relevant agencies to channel recovered loots to the construction of capital projects, to improve on the well-being of the governed, ” he said.

He explained that the recovered loots  would help in providing employment for the teeming jobless youths in the country.

“ Fighting corruption is one of the best things that has happened to our country but let us utilise what was recovered from looters in providing social amenities that will enhance our living conditions, ” he stated.

He also called on Nigerians to continue to support the administration’s whistle blower policy by exposing corrupt public officers.

“Mr President should take decisive security action against kidnappers, cattle  rustlers and insurgency, to enable Nigerians to pursue  their  legitimate businesses.
