Wealth
By David Adeoye
Ibadan, March 12, 2017(NAN) Youths must refrain from quest for quick wealth but be hardworking in their respective endeavours in life.
Rev Emmanuel Adeniyi, the pastor of the Banner of Christ Church, Adegbayi-Ibadan, gave the admonition in his sermon during the youths’ anniversary in the church on Sunday.
Adeniyi decried the attitudes of some youths that were engaging in criminal activities in order to get rich quick without minding the consequences.
He said that whoever that worked hard, pray and endured would reap God-given wealth.
He said that seeking wealth through dubious means would backfire against the seekers.
“We hear reports of youths involving themselves in kidnapping, ritual killings, armed robbery and other devilish means to acquire wealth.
“Such youths will end their lives in regret.
“So, our youths should stay clear of dubious means of pursuing wealth but embrace meaningful ventures that will guarantee them worthy living,“ the cleric said.
Adeniyi implored parents and guardians to make the education of their children and inculcating moral training in them as their priorities.
According to him, moral training will guide the children against bad influences and enhances their spiritual growth.
He also advised government to organise programmes and talks that would motivate and mentor youths for positive ventures. (NAN)
