By Blessing Odega,

Jos, July 10, 2018 (NAN) The Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as the Winners’ Chapel, on Tuesday donated relief materials worth over N7 million to various Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camps in Plateau.

The President and founder of the Church‎, Dr David Oyedepo, who was represented at the event by the Church Vice-President, Dr David Abioye, said the donations were made to alleviate the victims’ plight.

He said the gesture was a demonstration of love and passion by Winners’ chapel for the victims in the camps in the state.

Oyedepo said the church was also moved, seeing that the victims lost homes and property during the attacks on some villages in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of the state, allegedly by herdsmen.

“Be comforted, remain strong, and do not lose faith as this trial is only for a moment. The body of Christ is standing with you,’’ Oyedepo encouraged the IDPs.

Also speaking at the event, Dr Obed ‎Dashen, the Vice-President of Church of Christ in Nigeria (COCIN) in Heipang, said the donations would strengthen the faith of the IDPs “at this trying period.“

Receiving the donations at the St. John Vianney Minor Seminary IDP camp in Barkin Ladi, the Head of the Camp, Rev. Fr. Moses Jah, thanked the Winners Chapel for the gesture saying it would go a long way in alleviating the plight of the displaced persons.

In a vote of thanks, Mr Francis Chunk, the camp leader at the Geo-science IDP camp in Angudi also commended the church for the donations.

He said that most people who prior to the donation slept on mats would now sleep on mattresses.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the items donated were toiletries, beddings, mattresses, drugs, diapers and food items among others.

Several people lost their lives in five villages following the attack.(NAN)
