Changan Ford recalls over 560,000 cars for defective brake hoses

Beijing, Feb. 2, 2018 (Xinhua/NAN) Changan Ford Automobile, a joint venture between China’s Changan Automobile and American automaker, Ford, will recall more than 560,000 cars in China due to defective brake hoses, authorities said on Friday.
According to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the recall involves over 370,000 new Mondeo models manufactured between January 2013 and December 2016.
“Others include nearly 200,000 Edge models produced between September 2014 and January 2017.’
“The materials of the break hoses in these vehicles are not durable enough and could lead to safety hazards under extreme circumstances,’’ the administration said.
Changan Ford said it would start to recall the cars from Feb. 25 and replace the brake hoses free of charge. (Xinhua/NAN)
