Lagos, Feb.8, 2017 (NAN) A 48-year-old carpenter, Olanade Oluseyi, who allegedly defrauded Oluseye Remilekun of N55,000, on Wednesday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
Oluseyi, who lives in Buldland Street in Ojodu area of Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of obtaining money under false pretence and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Eruada Victor, told the court that the accused committed the offences in November 2016 at Buldland Street, Ojodu area of Lagos.
He said that the complainant paid the money to the accused for some furniture work which he failed to deliver.
“The accused failed to fulfill his part of the agreement he made with the complainant after collecting the money,’’ Victor alleged.
He said the complainant reported the case to the police and the accused was subsequently apprehended.
The offences contravened Sections 285 and 312 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate A.O. Anifowoshe granted bail to the accused in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Anifowoshe adjourned the case to Feb. 27 for mention. (NAN)
