Diligence
By Veronica Dariya
Bwari (Abuja), Dec. 11, 2017 (NAN) The Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Mr Musa Dikko on Monday charged members of staff of the council to be diligent and strive to make positive impact while executing their duties.
The chairman said this at the council’s maiden Christmas Carol Nine Lessons and Love Feast in Abuja.
According to him, the progress of the council does not lie with the leadership alone but also with the members of staff.
“It is impossible to have a council without the people, who deserve a better livelihood.
“Administrations come and go, but the council remains, how much impact you make as individuals contribute to the progress of the council.
“You need to participate and make a difference irrespective of your religious, ethnic or professional background.
“Stop complaining and strive to make a change. If we as your leaders have continued to complain since we started this administration, we wouldn’t have gotten to where we are now.’’
Dikko also urged members of staff to celebrate the yuletide in peace, while also urging them to emulate their Muslim brethren in showing “togetherness’’ at any given course.
He said that standing by one another in times of need and joy was the right step to take as Christians.
The council chairman also encouraged them to correct each other on the right thing to do when mistakes were made instead of being spiteful.
Dikko also urged Christians among the members of staff to embrace and involve everyone working in the council irrespective of their geopolitical zones and religion, as it was “what gets the job done’’.
“Where there are issues, let’s resolve amicably, ‘’ he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event was organised by the Christian Staff Fellowship of the council.
It was attended by more than 30 members of staff and other stakeholders. (NAN)
