Marriage

Ikorodu (Lagos State), Jan. 30, 2017 (NAN) A 60- year-old businessman, Asimi Olanrewaju, on Monday pleaded with an Ikorodu Customary Court in Lagos to terminate his 16-year-old marriage over alleged rudeness of his wife.
Olanrewaju told court that his wife, Mujidat, 39, had disrespected him so much and that he no longer had love for her.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the husband had in 2014 sought separation from the wife because of her rudeness but they were reconciled after a court intervention.
“My wife is so rude; she has refused to change her attitude. She does not respect me. She does things at her own will.
“She also attends parties without informing me. I have also caught her in acts of infidelity.
“She does not care for me and our children. I can no longer cope with this marriage, please terminate our relationship,” he pleaded.
Mujidat, who is a mother of three, however, denied all the allegations, praying court to resolve her differences with Asimi.
The President of the court, Mrs Omolara Abiola, subsequently, cautioned the couple, advising them to live in peace or risk dissolution of the marriage.
Abiola warned Mujidat to stop attending parties not approved by her husband and to desist from her rude habits. (NAN)
