Minna, Sept. 26, 2017 (NAN) A Minna Sharia Court, on Tuesday ordered the remand in prison a middle-aged businessman, Usman Abdullahi, after he pleaded guilty to a 2-count charge levelled against him.

Abdullahi was arraigned on a 2-count charge of criminal breach of trust and cheating, contrary to Sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Cletus Ibrahim, had told the court that one Ibrahim Alhassan, reported the matter on Sept. 23.

Ibrahim said the complainant alleged that he sold some rams worth N272, 000 to the defendant in August.

He said that the accused gave the complainant N100, 000, with a pledge to pay the remaining N172, 000.

According to him, the accused started avoiding the complainant ever since as he neither paid up the balance nor return the rams.

When the charges were read to the accused person, he pleaded guilty and begged the court for leniency.
