Bauchi, Jan.17, 2017 (NAN) The Bauchi State Agency for Drugs and Medical Consumables says plans are on to enrol all Primary Health Centres (PHC) on the Drugs Revolving Funds (DRF) platform for prompt supply and access to affordable drugs.
The Chairman of the Agency, Mr Abdulkadir Ahmed disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Bauchi.
Ahmed said that the plan was to gradually cover all 323 PHCs in the state.
“Plans are on to enrol all the PHCs, in the 20 local governments on the DRF platform to enable clients to access drugs with less difficulties since we get supplies directly from the pharmaceutical companies.
“But the enrolment plan will have to be a gradual process until every facility comes on board,” he said.
According to Ahmed, with the expected support from the Federal Government, the agency hopes to achieve the desired plan.
NAN reports that 20 general hospitals in the state have been successfully enrolled on the DRF platform and are receiving supply of drugs and other medical consumables. (NAN)
