Ibadan, March 21, 2018 (NAN) A real estate consultant, Mr Olurogba Orimolade, on Wednesday urged operators in the real estate industry to continuously be updated with the new technologies and practices of the profession.
Orimolade, the Chairman, Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), Lagos Branch, spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the sidelines of the 48th Annual Conference of the institution in Ibadan.
He said it was necessary that the operators kept abreast with the new and modernised approaches of the profession to sustain their existence and relevance in the industry.
The chairman said that there was need to transform and regenerate the operators in the environment so as to be able to regenerate it to meet the international standards.
According to him, just as the world is evolving, the real estate industry is as old as human civilisation, evolving with each stage and phase of human settlements and culture.
“Driven by technology innovation, demographic growth, environmental change, a new economic order and a strong social and political desire for change, the world is changing quickly.
“The real estate industry does not exist in isolation and in a fast-changing world, the sector has the vital role of providing the requisite built environment to meet the challenges presented by these changes,’’ he said.
Orimolade said that the conference was targeted at renewing and unveiling the new processes and systems in which the real estate practice were being conducted.
The chairman said that motive of the conference was to regenerate the environment and operators in different professions to the new trends of global realities.
“The gathering will be an avenue to explore some of the interesting modernised ideas in real estate profession as it relates to our environment,” he told NAN. (NAN)
