Abuja March 28, 2017(NAN) Two vehicles were seriously damaged on Tuesday, following an early morning auto crash which occurred on Independence Avenue, Central Business District, opposite Bank of Agriculture in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that though there was no injury but the two cars involved were damaged.
According to the owner of the carina II Toyota car with registration number ST 755 ABC, Mr Jacob Tsavnum, he was linking up from Herbert Macaulay Way to Independence Avenue when his car broke down.
“After I dropped the C-caution to notify the other road user, I left to look for a Mechanic only to return and met my car smashed from behind,’’ he said.
Tsavnum, who is a bread distributor, explained that even though he had used the C-caution sign unfortunately the other driver did not see the parked vehicle and rammed into it.
But Tayo Adewaye, the owner of Mazda 626, with registration number DWR 844 DC told NAN that he did not notice the parked vehicle because he was coming from the Federal Secretariat.
“I did not notice the caution sign because the car was not well parked,” he said.
NAN reports that the rate of accidents along the route had drastically reduced from what was obtained in the past.
One of the five policemen and traffic officers at the scene, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that they were informed of the accident by a Good Samaritan.
“We rushed in to clear the road for other users to have clear access.
“We thank God, by the time we got here; there was no injury and no lost of live, only the two cars were damaged,’’ he said.(NAN)
