Lagos, May 23, 2018 (NAN) The Voice of Women and Youth International Foundation (VWYI), an NGO, says it is strategizing towards building a new Nigeria to meet the aspirations of women and youths.
Chairperson of the foundation, Mrs Ifeyinwa Okafor, made this known when she led a delegation to the Lagos office of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.
According to her, now is the time for women and youths to be actively involved in nation-building.

“The voice of Women and Youth International Foundation is a Nigerian-based organisation set up with the goal of driving change. What kind of change you may ask?
“Our vision is the inclusion of women and youth participation in an evolving Nigeria.
“Our mission is to drive more women and youth participation and inclusion in good governance, in economic growth and in community development at all levels.
“Our membership is cut across all the states of the federation.
“We are an organisation driven by passion for a new Nigeria; a Nigeria where our children will thrive; a nation where aspiration of young and old can be fulfilled.
“To achieve this, we decided to build a new generation of women and youths in leadership. One of the strategies is through a series of capacity building workshops and conferences.’’

Responding, Mr Ibrahim Mammaga, the Managing Editor and Head of Operations, Lagos Office of NAN, welcomed the delegation and gave an assurance that NAN would do its best possible “to give you good coverage“.

“You are welcome to the News Agency of Nigeria. Our office here in Lagos is second to Abuja.
“Whatever we have in Abuja we have it here; all the departments, units, everything, we have them here.
“Probably some of you are not fully aware of our operations. NAN is one of the largest media organisations in the country.
“In the sense that we provide contents to most of the media – both electronics and prints, even online.
“We have over 1, 500 clients all over the country plus those outside the country. We have offices in all the states of the federation.
“Six zonal offices; we have more than 24 districts offices.
“We also have foreign offices. Currently we have one in New York, South Africa, we have one in Abidjan, we have one in Ethiopia; and we have agreement with most of the world largest news agencies.
“Right now we have over 500 reporters all over the country. So we have the biggest network.
“When we take stories only God knows the limit of our coverage.
“As for your activities, we really appreciate your presence and we will do our best to give you good coverage.’’
