Lagos, March 23, 2018 (NAN) Parents have a greater role to play in moulding children to be good and contented leaders, Lagos State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Dr Abdul-Hakeem Abdul-Lateef  has said.

Abdul-Lateef told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in an interview on Friday that if children were brought up to be selfless, they would grow up to see leadership as a call to service and not an opportunity to get rich.

“Parenting is an important thing. Parents must see parenting as a profession.

“You must begin with the young ones as you train them on contentment, on integrity.

“It is not something that is cast in iron, we must imbibe that culture.

“Every Nigerian must think of Nigeria; understand that this country is richly blessed.

“Look at what the Customs has been able to achieve: Look at JAMB that was contributing N50 million is now contributing billions.

“Each person who is at the head of Immigrations, the Police; and the Courts must buy in into the change agenda.’’
