Enugu, July 7, 2017 (NAN) The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr Mohammed Danmallam, has reassured residents of the safety of their lives and property.

Danmallam was speaking against the backdrop of the ill feelings being expressed by sections of the country.

He said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Friday that residents should not panic but go on with their lawful businesses as the police and other security agencies are closely monitoring developments nationwide.

“All those people calling for division are going to be arrested and dealt with (because) the offence (they are committing) is treasonable.

“The good people of Enugu State should not panic because the Federal Government, that is, the Nigerian Police Force and other security agencies are watching them.

“And we are assuring the members of the public that there is no need for them to panic.

“Everybody should go about his (or her) normal business.

“Nigeria has reached a stage where no individual or group can drag us back.

“We (security agencies) are on top of our game.’’
