Sensitisation
By Lydia Ngwakwe
Lagos, Jan. 26, 2017 (NAN) Mr Michael Ajayi, a board member of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), has urged government at all levels to continue to sensitise Nigerians to their policies and programmes.
Ajayi gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Lagos.
He said that way the Nigerians would be better informed on government activities.

“There is a kind of communication gap between government agencies and the people; talking about Federal Government for instance, I know a lot is being put in place to empower especially the masses.
“This is the first time we are having a government that is pro masses trying to ensure that the masses are liberated from the clutches of hunger and poverty.
“Though Ministry of Agriculture has a lot of programmes, Bank of Industry (BOI) is been giving money, Central Bank of Nigeria the same thing.
“But when you ask people, they are not aware.
“So it does mean that may have to change their communication strategy to mobilise people.
“Doing away with traditional media, engage the community, maybe stakeholders interaction with people, leaders, various interest groups across the country and the thing that must be done painstakingly to ensure that no one is left behind.’’

He added that anyone who lives and own a business in Lagos was qualified to access the LSETF loans.

“Who is a Lagos resident? Anybody who lives in Lagos and the only way we can know if you are Lagos resident is that you have LASRA.
“Once you are registered, by having that card means that you have a place you are living in Lagos and once you have that you are eminently qualified to apply for LSETF Loan.
“So it is for everybody, no age limit so far you have a business you are doing or innovation, a business you want to start; the fund is there to enhance, expand and give people access to funds and not only that, even train them.’’
