Abuja, July 14, 2017 (NAN) A lawyer, Mrs Edith Umunna, has advised Nigerians to pursue and achieve their career goals no matter how advanced in age they are.
Umunna, a 52-year-old barrister, was among the 1,468 new lawyers that were admitted to the Nigerian Bar on July 13.
She told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Friday that she worked as a banker for more than 20 years before deciding to study law.

“I have been a banker and then about three years ago I resigned because I have a very keen interest in law.
“I really want to see if I can help those I am much better than to be the advocate and then at least take the joy in really achieving my passion of being a lawyer.
“I will really go into civil action where I can meet people who are denied justice so I can help them, I will speak up for them I can even put my resources on getting justice for them.’’

Referring to 80-year-old Pius Enebeli, who was called to Bar in 2016, Umunna said that at 52, she was still very young.
She, therefore, urged anyone with the passion for a particular profession to pursue it regardless of how advanced in age they were. (NAN)
