Lagos, Jan. 10, 2017 (NAN) The National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), National Theatre, Iganmu, says it will continue to build its capacity to be able to survive the harsh economic conditions in the country.
The Coordinator of the council, Mr Tope Babayemi, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.
Babayemi said the capacity building would enable the council to continue to deliver on its professional responsibility of being the mirror of society.
The coordinator told NAN that the council would organise series of seminars to improve the lot of artistes in view of the economic situation in the country.

“We should continue to build our capacity to survive the harsh economic condition and to be able to continue to deliver on our professional responsibility of being the mirror of society.
“So, hopefully, this year there will be more activities.
“We’ll still have our regular events `This Sounds like Lagos’ which is a platform for up and coming young musicians.
“There will be other training in arts administration and arts management to arm young arts administrators with the budding skills that will enable them to able to run art organisations.’’

The coordinator added that a free publishing seminar would hold on Jan. 13 at the Artistes’ Village, NCAC National Theatre Annex.
He added that admission to the seminar venue on “making money through the internet’’ would be free of charge.
Babayemi said that Mr Arthur Zulu, a renowned publisher would deliver a lecture at the seminar on “how to use a computer with internet access as well as a projector to make money. (NAN)
