Stealing
Asaba, Feb. 10, 2017 (NAN) An Asaba Magistrate’s Court on Friday remanded 11 suspects in Ugwashi-Uku Prison over alleged stealing.
The accused are Okpor Chukuemeka (21), Nduka Makugwa (31), Chukuma Henry (19), Ugbo Moses (28), Okwushi Chukulaso (25), Onumonu Praise (19), Eloh Christopher (29), Uzoka Stanley (25), Onwuka Kedisinaka (26), Ejor David (27) and Obiwe Anieze (28).
They allegedly committed felony to wit and belonged to a secret society known as Aro-Bagger and had a system of intimidating people and stealing from them.
The Prosecutor, Mr Ali Samson, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Dec. 27, 2016.
Samson said that the offence was punishable under Sections 516 (a) and 390 of the Criminal Code, Cap C21, Vol 1, Laws of Delta State of Nigeria 2006.
The accused persons’s plea was not taken.
The Magistrate, Mrs Okonkwo Akanume, ordered that the accused be remanded in Ugwashi-Uku Prison.
Akanume adjourned the case to Feb. 14 for definite hearing. (NAN)
