Lagos, Jan. 8, 2018 (NAN) A 40-year-old applicant, Abubakar Zayyanu, who allegedly stole a side mirror of a car valued at N75,000, was on Monday arraigned in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.

The defendant, whose address was not given, was docked on a count charge of stealing.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Raji Akeem, said the offence was committed at midnight in Minimal Estate, Ikeja, on Dec. 11, 2017.

Akeem alleged that the accused was caught by the vigilance group at midnight with a side mirror of a Dodge Jeep valued at N75,000.

“The accused was thereafter handed over to the police,’’ he said.

The offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr T. O. Shomade, granted the accused bail in the sum of N75,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Shomade adjourned the case until Feb. 5 for mention. (NAN)
