Applicant admits stealing motorcycle, remanded in prison

Abuja, July 18, 2018 (NAN) A Karmo Grade I Area Court, Abuja, on Wednesday ordered the remand of 25-year-old applicant, Ezekiel Timothy, who stole a motorcycle.
Timothy admitted committing the offence, while the judge, Inuwa Maiwada, ordered the remand of the defendant in prison and adjourned the case until July 23, for sentencing.
The prosecutor, Ifeoma Ukagha, told the court that the defendant, a resident of Dape village, Abuja, was arraigned on a count charge of being in possession of a motorcycle, suspected to be stolen.
She said Timothy was arrested on July 14,by anti-car theft patrol team, attached to Life Camp Police Station, Abuja, led by Insp. Bala Danjuma.
Ukagha, said the defendant was trying to sell the blue coloured Suzuki motorcycle at Kado Pantaker, Abuja, without a genuine document.
She said during police investigation, he confessed to the crime that he stole the motorcycle from Kaduna State.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 319 of the Penal Code.
