Always comply with directive on cleaning offices, Kano govt. tells civil servants

Kano,  Dec.  30,  2016 (NAN) The  Kano  State Government on Friday directed  civil servants in the state to always comply with the monthly cleaning of public offices on the last Friday of every month.

The state’s  Head of  Service,  Alhaji Auwal Na’iya,  gave the  directive  on Friday  when he received the Commissioner for Environment,  Dr Ali Makoda , who monitored the exercise at the State Secretariat.

He  said that although many of the ministries and parastatal agencies were already imbibing the culture of cleanliness, it had  become necessary to put in more effort.

“Islam as a religion has made it compulsory for Muslims to be hygienic and all believers must comply,’’ he said.

He commended the efforts  of  Makoda  for diligently  monitoring  the exercise.

Makoda, in his remarks,  expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance   of civil servants  with the monthly sanitation in  work places.

NAN reports that the state  government had  introduced a monthly sanitation exercise for work places, motor parks and markets  on the last Friday of each month. (NAN)
