Abuja,June 14, 2017( NAN ) The National Industrial Court, Abuja, has fixed July 14 for the adoption of written addresses in a suit instituted against the International Rescue Committee Nigeria(IRC), by a former employee, Mr Daniel Bassey.

Bassey, whose one year contract with the IRC was purportedly terminated on Oct.30, 2014, is asking the court to order the respondent to pay him his six months’ salary for the period he worked.

The aggrieved worker said that the salary was the balance of the one year contract he had with the IRC.

The claimant is also asking for damages for the alleged unlawful termination of his appointment as well as the cost of the litigation.

The judge, Justice Edith Agbakoba, fixed the date to enable the respondent’s counsel, Mr Olumuyiwa Olowokure, filed the respondent’s written address out of time.

Earlier, Olowokure, had moved a motion seeking for extension of time to file respondent’s written address out of time.

Since the application was not opposed by claimant’s counsel, Mr Surhyel Mushelia, the court fixed July 14 for adoption of addresses.(NAN)
