Ile-Ife (Osun), Feb 2, 2017 (NAN) A 33-year-old man, Tope Samuel, on Thursday appeared in an Osun Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife for alleged public fighting.

The Prosecutor, Sgt Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Jan. 29, around 5:30 p.m. at Aderemi Road, Lagere, Ile-Ife.

Osanyintuyi said that the accused wounded, Bode Oyerinde, by hitting him with a stick on his head and he sustained deep injury on his head and became unconscious.

He said the offence contravened Section 338 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol 11, Laws of Osun, 2002.

The Defence Counsel, Mr Ben Adiereje, applied for the bail of the accused in most liberal  term and promised that his client would not jump bail.

Magistrate Dorcas Ajiboye granted bail to the accused in the sum of N200,000 with a surety in like sum.

Ajiboye said that the surety must swear to affidavit of means, resides within the court’s jurisdiction, produce three years tax clearance certificate as well as provide two recent passport photographs.

She adjourned the case till Feb. 13 for hearing.(NAN)
