Alleged indefinite suspension: Court fixes March 21 for hearing of accountant’s suit

Abuja,Feb.20, 2017 ( NAN) The National Industrial Court, Abuja, has fixed March 21 to hear the suit brought by one Mr Oguche Joseph, of the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, seeking the lifting of his alleged suspension
The claimant sued the Federal Civil Service Commission, over his alleged indefinite suspension from work in 2005.
Joseph, an accountant in the Office of the AGF, alleged that he was suspended by the respondents in 2005 over purported misconduct.
The Judge, Justice Rakiya Haastrup, fixed the date to enable the respondents file their memorandum of appearance and other processes.
The court also ordered that hearing notices be served on the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, the second respondent in the suit.
Earlier, Mr Mr Omeiza Zaccheaus, told the court that he had a pending application before the court.
Zaccheaus said that he was seeking the leave of court to join the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation as the second respondent in the suit.
Counsel to the Federal Civil Service Commission, Mr Bala Umar, did not oppose the motion.
The aggrieved worker wants the court to compel his employers to reinstate him, lift the alleged suspension as well as pay him all his entitlements.
The claimant is also seeking the intervention of the court to reinstate him to the current grade level of his peers.
The Accountant General of the Federation was not represented by counsel in court.(NAN)
