Akeredolu approves c’ttee on identification of state-owned tractors, others

Akure, May 23, 2017 (NAN)  Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu  has approved the constitution of a five -man committee on proper identification and application of state-owned tractors, construction equipment and other heavy duty vehicles.

A statement issued on Tuesday in Akure by  Mr Olusegun Ajiboye, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said the  constitution of the committee  became necessary because of the need to put in clear perspective the status of all state- owned tractors, construction equipment and heavy duty vehicles.

It said that the members of the committee are  Mr Gbenga Olaniyi as Chairman and Mr Sheriff Adeyemo as Secretary.

Other members of the committee are  M.J. Afeniforo,   Femi Adebayo and Idowu Akinro, who are all engineers

The statement said that the committee would ascertain the location of the  tractors, construction equipment and heavy duty vehicles across the state.

It said that the committee would  also determine  the current status of all the equipment in relation to  their condition such as  whether  they are good, serviceable, unserviceable, scraps or vandalised.

According to the statement, the  committee is to make appropriate recommendations to the state government in respect of proper application of the equipment and assist government accordingly.

It said that the committee has  four weeks to submit its report. (NAN)
