Air force wing set to commence operation in Daura

Daura (Katsina) March 2 2017 (NAN) AVM Sani Ahmed, Air Officer Commanding Special Operation Command of the Nigerian Air Force, has said its Forward Operating Wing located in Daura, Katsina State, would enhance security.

Ahmed said this on Thursday during a courtesy call on the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk, in his palace.

He said the wing would provide security and other facilities such as schools and medical services as well as evacuation of the people of the host community during emergencies.

Ahmed said he was in Daura to inspect the ongoing project of the air force wing, assuring that it would soon be completed and be put to use.

In his remarks, the emir commended the Federal Government for citing the air force wing in Daura, saying that it would promote security in the area.

Farouk said the Emirate Council would do everything possible to cooperate and support the project, saying, ”we are extremely grateful for this giant project.” (NAN)
