Katsina, Feb. 15, 2018 (NAN) The Katsina State Government says it is showcasing its agricultural potential to the world in Faraway, U.S. at the 2018 World Agric Expo.

This is contained in a statement by the spokesman to the state Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa-Kallah, and made available to newsmen in Katsina on Thursday.

Kallah said the state delegation is being led by his boss, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, who is also the state Commissioner for Agriculture.

The World Agric Expo taking place in USA is a gathering of stakeholders from across nations to rub minds on agriculture-related matters.

Yakubu said, ‘‘The mission of the Team is in furtherance of the philosophy of the state administration’s Agricultural Restoration Agenda aimed at revitalising agriculture to meet the challenges of a growing and dynamic society of today’’.

He noted that the state government had realised that the traditional method of agriculture was no longer fashionable to enhance agricultural production for the teeming population.

He explained that this is why the government opted to open all possible frontiers and lay the foundation that would serve as the springboard of agricultural revolution in the state.

‘‘Participating in World Agric Expo in USA by the state government is setting a benchmark for a lofty dream to meet the rest of the world, that will give the state impetus to identify partners in the sector.

‘‘The Expo and the concurrent educating seminar are veritable avenues to sell the state’s potential in the sector to the world’s main stakeholders in agriculture,’’ he said.

He said the state team was discussing and sharing experiences, adding that ‘The World Agric-Expo truly answers its name – latest technologies and machinery, services and next steps are all on display’’. (NAN)
