Kafanchan (Kaduna State ), Dec. 14, 2016 (NAN) The Kafanchan Unit of Kaduna State Transport and Environmental Law Enforcement Agency (KASTELEA), has sought the support of traditional rulers in Southern Kaduna State in the execution of its activities.

KASTELEA Asistant General Manager, Mr Irimiah Young made the appeal on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to the palaces of the Emir of Jema’a and the Chief of Kagoro.

Young said the Agency with the mandate to ensure free flow of traffic and environmental safety could only record success with the support of traditional rulers of the communities.

“We have since realised that the aims and objectives of the Agency cannot be achieved without the support of the traditional rulers.

” The Agency therefore thought it necessary to seek the fatherly advice of the royal fathers in carrying out its activities,” he said.

He said the state government in 2014 enacted the law establishing the Agency to ensure sanity on the roads and environmental safety.

In their separate responses, the Emir of Jema’a, Alhaji  Mohammadu Isa Mohammadu and the Chief of Kagoro, Mallam Ufai Bonet, assured KASTELEA of their support and urged it to carry out its duties with outermost discretion.

The traditional rulers said the Agency should endeavor to channel its efforts more on sensitisation than arrests and sanctioning of offenders. (NAN)
