Yola, March 1, 2018 (NAN) The  Commissioner for Education in Adamawa,  Mr  Julius Kadala, says the state will  collaborate with the World Health Organisation(WHO)  to train 1,000 teachers on trauma  control.

Kadala, who made the disclosure in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria(NAN)  in Yola on Thursday, said the training  initiative would involve teachers from seven local government areas hard hit by the Boko Haram insurgency.

He said the trauma training, which  would be  specifically for school  teachers,  would educate them on how to douse  fear among the  affected pupils.

” Many teachers would also be trained on post insurgency programmes,  ” Kadala said.

He said thousands of school  children, who  have  been  traumatised by the  Boko Haram crisis in the state,  require  the services of trauma experts for counselling.

On the school feeding programme  in the state, he said government had already screened qualified cooks from the 21 local government areas.(NAN)
