Adamawa Police Command warn public against jungle justice

Yola, Dec. 8, 2016 (NAN) Following the killing of a suspected car snatcher in Adamawa by a mob action on Wednesday, the state police command has cautioned members of the public against jungle justice.

 

In a statement in Yola on Thursday by its Public Relations Officer, SP Othman Abubakar, the command said that it would no longer tolerate such an act.

 

“Adamawa State Police Command wishes to warn members of the public taking law into their hands to desist from doing so, with particular reference to what happened in Lafiya Lamurde where a suspected car snatcher was burnt to death along with the vehicle.

 

“The command will no longer tolerate this barbaric act; it is unacceptable.

 

“Effort is on top gear to bring the perpetrators of this dastardly act to book,” it stated.

 

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the  suspected car snatcher was simply identified as Rapka. (NAN)
