Yola, May 16, 2017 ( NAN) Adamawa Deputy Governor Mr Martins Babale says the present administration in the state will use the next two years to focus on human development.
Babale made this known when he received the Managing Director of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Mr Bayo Onanuga, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Yola on Tuesday.
Babale said that in the last two years,the state government had concentrated on infrastructure, especially roads construction.
Babale said that with over 100 roads constructed across the state, government would now focus on human development, particularly poverty alleviation and wealth creation.
He also said that quality health and education would be given priority, adding that four general hospitals were being upgraded while the state of emergency had been declared in education.
“When we assumed office in 2015, we met empty treasury, but because of dedication and commitment to the people of the state, we are able to touch so many things in the state,” Babale said.
He urged media to support the government’s effort through positive publicity.
Earlier, Onanuga had lauded the achievement made by the government, adding that the media would continue to remain committed to development news.
Onanuga was also at the office of Adamawa Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Malam Ahmad Sajoh, who showed him government blueprint on poverty reduction.
