Abuja, Oct. 3, 2017 (NAN) Nollywood actor Emeka Ike, has commended Kayode Olumoko, Chief Executive Officer of Sound Factory Entertainment (SFE) for removing some youths off the streets and encouraging them to exhibit their talents.

Ike made the remark in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja, on the sidelines of the unveiling of the record label of SFE and its artistes.

Ike, who owns ‘Nollywood TV’ that will be running on TSTV, noted that Olumoko was a young man who had done so well for young people on the streets.

“He has taken some youths off the streets and provided them with the SFE platform to enable them realise their dreams in the music and entertainment industry in general.

“We need platforms like SFE to transform our youths from what they are doing to the next level.

“I support his passion for young Nigerians to excel in the music industry 100 per cent. The artistes in SFE will also be given opportunities to showcase their talents in Nollywood TV,” Ike said.

Meanwhile, Olumoko, a graduate of Laboratory Technology, told NAN earlier that SFE had been in existence for 15 years.

“After I left school, I was not satisfied with what I was doing in the lab, so I decided to go into music. But before then, I had always been organising shows and other entertainment events in schools.

“What is unique about us is that we pick youths with talents from the streets. We don’t use software to enhance their voices. We are in the streets to detect clean artistes.

“We have Jay Tee, a talented artiste from Jos and Sidney, who are signed on the SFE. We intend to take their acts to the next level in the entertainment industry. That is how we roll,” Olumoko said.

One of the artistes, Jude Efekorotu also known as Jay Tee, said that he usually introduced different styles into his music.

He said that the environment also influenced the nature of his songs.

“I am inspired by my environment and I sing about it, so, whatever you hear in my music is experience from where I grew up.”

Similarly, Sidney Udele also known as Sidney, the first artiste to be signed on SFE, said that his song ‘Calabash’ had been making waves on the internet.

He said that he was into different genre of music, ranging from Afro Pop, R and B and Dance Hall.

“SFE and I will soon embark on a radio tour across the country. However, for now, the song ‘Calabash’ is doing well.”

An in-house producer for the record label, Fred Daniels also known as ‘Fredibeat’ said: “SFE is here to stay”, and called  on Nigerians to “watch out for more hits from SFE’’, saying “we will take over the music industry soon”.

NAN reports that SFE is a music label in Abuja aimed at taking talented youths off the streets and giving them platforms to showcase their talents and be useful to themselves and the society. (NAN)
