Abuja, Oct.20, 2017 (NAN) Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has expressed delight over the inauguration of Telecom Satellite Television (TSTv) in the country.
Mr Adetokunbo Kayode, the in-coming President of the chamber, said this in a statement by the Media and Protocol Officer, ACCI, Mr Gena Lubem on Friday in Abuja.

Kayode described the initiative as one that would further bring information, innovative ideas, goods and services closer to the generality of Nigerians.

He also expressed joy that the brains behind the brand were young vibrant enterprise minded Nigerians that had decided to bring the right content and premium product to satisfy the growing demand of Nigerians.

While commending the courage of the investor for coming from the Diaspora to invest in Nigeria, he also noted that the initiator believed in the government’s seriousness about diversifying the economy.

“I am particularly impressed that this brand, which has been long awaited, is coming at a time that Nigeria is diversifying into the non-oil sector and tapping from the massive potential inherently endowed in our people.

“It is cheerful to us at the Chamber because the main brain behind this giant stride is none other than Mr Bright Echefu.

“I know for a fact that he has the capacity and capability to smoothly run this digital broadcast platform across the country and even beyond.

“The fact that it is affordable, has many interesting channels and a promise of strong signal, I therefore call on Nigerians to immediately go into it.

“ The time has come for all of us to embrace what truly belongs to us and is home grown; moreover, in the corporate world, competition drives better service,” he said.

Adetokunbo noted that as TSTv introduced the Pay-as-You-Consume model, an option other providers had insisted was not possible, it meant Nigerians had now found a truly indigenous digital broadcast alternative.

“What has made the project fascinatingly unique is that it would start with 100 channels of local, regional and international programmes in major languages in the country.
“The channels will have a blend of Ghanaian, Sierra Leonean, Liberian languages, among others.

“At ACCI, our doors are wide open for all categories of genuine investors, inventors and service providers.

“We are proud to be associated with this laudable idea that will positively add value to the people by creating massive employment opportunities across the value chain.

“We are not unaware that TSTv is here to provide the best products and services.

“We would suggest that everyone get their decoders and start enjoying incredible programmes cutting across sports, news, movies, documentaries, soap operas and others.
Adetokunbo said the stride also served as a clarion call to remind Nigerians that government alone could not do all things but needed the participation and synergy of the private sector.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Adetokunbo was cabinet minister in the portfolios of Defence, Labour and Productivity, Arts and Culture as well as Justice and Attorney General of the federation.(NAN)
