Fun-seekers

Abuja, June 27, 2017 (NAN) Abuja residents on Tuesday trooped to the Magic Land Amusement Park, near City Gate in the Federal Capital Territory to catch some fun as part of the sallah celebration.
Some of the fun-seekers who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) daid the long break afforded them the opportunity to unwind and relax.
Mr Bolarin Ajayi, a construction worker said the long break had availed him the opportunity to bond and spend quality time with his family in the park.
“The nature of my work does not give me the chance to come to places like this with my family; am happy for this Sallah break.
“You can see a lot of people here enjoying themselves, my family and I are also doing the same thing; we are happy.
“Both Christians and Muslims are here to catch their fun, that shows that we are one and if we remain united, we will achieve more,” Ajayi said.
Malam Mohammed Abdullmalek, who came with his wife Aisha and two children said the spirit of sallah celebration could be felt in the park.
According to him, the celebration has brought a lot of people to parks to enjoy themselves and be happy.
“The sallah celebration is to mark the end of the month of Ramadan and therefore, every Muslims needs to be happy that the fasting is over and blessings from Allah will manifest in our lives.
“Coming to the park is an expression of that joy and happiness that is experience by both Muslims and Christians.
“I want to thank Almighty Allah for this opportunity to complete the fast and visit the Magic Land Park to enjoy ourselves,” Abdullmalek said.
Mr Vitalis Obinna, a trader at Wuye ultramodern Market said he was in the park to catch his fun.
According to him “happiness and fun do not have religious inclinations.”
“Happiness is a thing of choice and I choice to come to the park with my family and be happy.
“Also, I see our Muslims brothers catching their fun as a result of the sallah celebration.
“Even if it was not sallah, happiness is a necessity and one of such ways to be happy is having fun like we are doing right now in this park.
“You can see happiness on the faces of my family members, even though we are from different religion, but we are here as one to enjoy ourselves,” Obinna stressed.
Meanwhile, Mr Paul Oko, the park manager comme ded funseekers for their patronage.
“I believe we were able to provide for Abuja residents exciting experience they will never forget in a hurry.
“I pray that God bless them and also give us the wisdom to continue to do more for them.” (NAN)
