Stealing

Asaba, Feb. 2, 2017 (NAN)Three suspects were arraigned in Asaba Magistrates’ Court on Thursday for allegedly stealing 150 litres of diesel valued at N26,250, property of MACK ULO Limited.
The accused are Habibu Sulieman,48, Umar Adabu, 31, and Ibrahim Rabiu, 32, they were charged for alleged stealing
Mr Alex Ibendiegu, the prosecutor, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Nov. 9, 2016 at ULO Limited office in Asaba.
Ibendiegu said that the offence was punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code Law Cap C21 Vol. 1, Laws of Delta State of Nigeria 2006.
The three accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
However, they were granted bail in the sum of N100,000, each with a surety in like sum.
The Magistrate, Mrs Okonkwo Akanume, said the surety must be a civil servant and should reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
She said that the surety should have landed property in the state capital and provide two passport photographs.
The case was adjourned to Feb. 13 for hearing. (NAN)
