Dutse, Feb. 1, 2017 (NAN) Sen. Abdullahi Abubakar (APC, Jigawa North-West), has built 30-bed maternity wards each in Ringim, Babura, Gumel and Kazaure General Hospitals.

Abubakar told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Wednesday in Dutse that the gesture was to ameliorate the sufferings of expectant mothers “especially in the rural areas”.

The senator, who spoke through an aide, Alhaji Munir Uba, said he was committed to promoting safe motherhood and safe delivery, and expressed hope that the facilities would ensure better life for the rural dwellers.

“The hospital wards are part of my constituency projects; I hope they will encourage rural women to patronise health facilities for ante natal and post-natal care,” he said.

NAN reports that the senator has already provided mattresses, bed sheets and pillow cases to Maigatari and Ringim General Hospitals. (NAN)
