Yala (C ’River), Jan. 29, 2017 (NAN) Some schools principals in Yala Local Government Area of Cross River have commended the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) for carrying out various projects in their schools.

They made the commendation in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yala on Sunday.

Mr Joseph Ejue, the Principal of Community Secondary School, Uchu-yache, said that the construction of a six-classroom block and office in the school was a big relief to the school.

“I must express my gratitude to the state government and SUBEB for this gesture,” he said.

Also, Mr Abachor-Igbeku, Principal UBEC Model Junior Secondary School, thanked the board for the rehabilitation of a six-classroom block in the school.

Mr Fidelis Erenje, the Headmaster of St. Joseph’s Primary School, expressed gratitude to the state government and the board for the construction of a four-classroom block in the school.

The school heads assured SUBEB that they would adequately maintain the school buildings and other facilities given to them and put them to good use.

The Chairman of SUBEB, Dr Stephen Odey, had earlier told NAN that the board was erecting similar structures at Holy Child Convent School and Okuku Community Primary School, Achuora-Uchu.

He also said that the board embarked on over 100 of such projects in the state between 2012 and 2015. (NAN)
