Woman in court for allegedly destroying property worth N139, 000

Abuja, Jan. 27, 2017 (NAN) A 27-year-old business woman, Khadijat Abdulkadir, was on Friday arraigned in a Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly breaking a  door valued at N5, 000 and damaging other  property.

The defendant, however, denied committing the offence, while the judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, granted her bail in the sum of N30, 000, and one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till Feb. 21,

The defendant who resides at Jabi Daki Biyu, Abuja was arraigned on a one-count charge of mischief.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Zannah Dalhatu, told the court that one Rusulanu Ahmed of same address with the defendant reported the matter at the Life Camp Police Station Abuja on Jan. 24.

Dalhatu said that the complainant claimed that on the same date the defendant allegedly broke her door valued at N5,000 and damaged her property.

 

Dalhatu listed them as LG television valued at N75, 000, television stand valued at N20, 000, home theatre valued at N25, 000, among others.

The prosecutor also said that the complainant was injured on her left eye.

Dalhatu said that the offence contravened Section 327 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
